Option 1 : He could drop the lead. This was drastic, easy and would ensure his safety but could possibly compromise the dog’s safety.
In our Life’s context, means that if we find ourselves in a relationship that doesn’t work, work space where we don’t feel valued, or find ourselves in any situation where we don’t want to be in, we always have the choice to walk away. But often its not easy to just simply drop the leash or walk away. Its not the best option available.
Option 2 : He could continue being dragged by the dog, continue shouting hoping that at some point in time the dog running.
In our Life’s context, this means we continue to be in the situation which is making us unhappy, stressed, hoping that someday something will change and it will be fine. This is what Einstein called was Insanity – doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result. Hope is not a good strategy. Like my teacher says, “Working with what doesn’t work, does not work.”
Option 3 : He could realize that he is the Master of the dog, and with all the strength pulls the lead hard to send the command to the dog to STOP.
In our Life’s context, this means that we realize that WE are the MASTERS of our lives and NOT victims of situations. This means we reclaim our hold on life. We realize that we make our own experiences. The power is in our hands and not in anyone else’s. This is the way of living like a Master. Living a life of a Master means that we accept the situation for what it is without the compulsive desire to label it as good or bad, we lay our options out to get us to where we would like to be and then choose the option and action it without the desire to control the outcome.
LIFE is what we give ourselves. It is neither hard or easy. It just is an experience. Choose your experience.
