LIFE – Let It Flow Easy!!

I did not have any particular religious preference as a child, for even as a child what had inspired me was to always be a good human being first and foremost. Neither did I have any strict religious belief systems as an adult who was not on the path of Self Inquiry, nor today as a person who is on this journey of Self inquiry, gradually peeling away, like an onion, one by one layers of conditioning. All that I now have is tremendous respect and gratitude for all the great Masters who have shared with us the Ultimate truth and shown us multiple paths of finding that truth within ourselves.

Yet one particular prayer in my school which was part of the conglomerate of prayers from different religious belief systems , which back in school I never knew why I loved and was so close to my heart, until recently,  was the Prayer of St Francis. Little did I know then, this would be the one which would help me in having total acceptance towards Duality and equally understanding Law of Attraction. In knowing that we always have the choice to choose our thoughts and actions, or change our thoughts and actions to those which connect us to our higher wisdom, our highest self.

“Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.”

The last three lines of the prayer sum up the way to experience our work, our relationships, our appreciation and committment towards environment, gratitude towards all of life. These three lines sum up all the teachings by various enlightened masters and equally helps in understanding the Law of Attraction.

In order to receive, we have to learn to give first. Give it ourselves first, so that we can then give to others.  My teacher explained this with a simple example. If we have a ten dollar note in our hand, how much can we give? Obviously, ten. We can’t give fifteen even if we have the desire.  He continued, saying that “it is the exactly the same with what we have to offer to others” When we have anger within, we give the same to others. When we have compassion within, we give the same to others.  For we can’t give what we don’t have. So if we don’t have love for self, its obvious we can’t give it to anyone else too. In today’s context – crappy input, crappy output.

Wayne Dyer explained it with this quote –

“When you squeeze an orange, you’ll always get orange juice to come out. What comes out is what’s inside. The same logic applies to you: when someone squeezes you, puts pressure on you, or says something unflattering or critical, and out of you comes anger, hatred, bitterness, tension, depression, or anxiety, that is what’s inside. If love and joy are what you want to give and receive, change your life by changing what’s inside.”
Put it in the context of the concept of Law of Attraction.  We don’t attract what we want, we attract who we are. So if we are angry within, we will give away anger. When we give away anger, we will receive the same thing back. So if we  want to receive love, we have to give love to ourselves first. So that we can give away love and attract more of it.  If we want to receive respect, we have to give respect to ourselves first, so that we can give away what we have within. That’s when we will receive more respect. If we want to receive abundance, we have to feel abundant within. That’s the only way to attract more abundance in life. The only way we can change our inner energy, our inner emotions ( energy in motion) is by practicing gratitude.

Life is simple – our experience of it is only through our thoughts. Let it flow easy.
