LIFE – Let It Flow Easy!!
The summer holidays were approaching and David and his wife Mary were wondering where to take Izzy and Noah for their yearly awaited holidays. Izzy and Noah particularly were excited as it was that time of the year when they got to go to a new country, explore the new towns, culture, food, and make new friends and most importantly fly.
After much debate they picked on their new destination. They figured out the travel details, planned their itinerary, started packing. In three weeks they all would be flying to their new holiday home for the next three weeks. As they landed on this beautiful island, they were given a set of rules and laws that they had to follow during their stay. The one that caught everyone’s attention was that they couldn’t take anything out of the small island country except for what they brought with them. Everything that was at the island could be bought, enjoyed but then had to be left behind.
David and family were absolutely amazed at the beauty of the island and all the interesting novelty things that the island had to offer. At the beach, Izzy and Noah had never seen such beautiful stones, shells. They collected a few, made necklaces, bracelets out of those. They gifted one to their Mom and wanted to take a few for their friends, so kept them in their bags. They were excited to share all of that with their friends. The more David and family explored the island, they were mesmerized by the beauty of it and all the beautiful and intricate things the islanders had made. As days passed by , they bought a few things that they wanted to take with them as souvenirs and few gifts they wanted to share with their family and friends. They did not realize how quickly the three weeks had gone by and it was time to pack and leave the beautiful island. Izzy and Noah particularly were sad as their holidays were coming to an end and wanted to stay longer on the island. Finally, the day arrived and David and family off went to the Airport where they were to take the flight back home. As they went through the security clearance, the security officer asked them to take out all the stuff that they had bought, reminding them of the rule of the island – the bracelet and necklace Izzy and Noah had made for their mom, all the shells and stones that they had collected, whatever the family had bought as souvenirs had to be left behind. Izzy and Noah particularly were heart broken – all the things that they wanted to share with their friends and family, they couldn’t take it with them. With heavy hearts they boarded their flight and bid their good byes to the beautiful island.
This is not just Izzy’s and Noah’s Story – this is very much our story. We have come on this beautiful planet Earth as visitors with an allotted time period. We can enjoy whatever we have here, but when its time to leave, we can’t take anything with us, not even our bodies that we are so associated with. Everything that we have accumulated, our house, furniture, jewellery, expensive clothes, bank balances, all our so called possessions and belongings, even our relationships, everything has be to left behind on this planet.
As we go through the global pandemic and forced lock downs in most countries, cities and towns, let us remind ourselves that from emptiness we came, and we go back to that emptiness as pure energy. Enjoy and feel blessed and grateful for what we have. Be kind and compassionate to everyone including the Earth, our environment, for that is what the entire universe represents in giving us endlessly whatever we desire. Stay Safe and stay blessed. Let’s practice real gratitude and stay humble.
