Life – Let It Flow Easy!!

Once we start practicing acceptance of things, situations devoid of any judgement, label , including acceptance of others, and ourselves for who they / we are at any given point in time without labels as selfish or selfless, good people or bad people, losers or successful we empower ourselves with the ability to discern and understand the next step.

The next step being having the ability to understand and know what our options are. Any situation would mandate either a response or a reaction. Re-action means repeating the same action and probably getting the same results / same outcome both externally as well as internally. And that’s practicing insanity if all we want is a different external outcome.

Choosing our response means  having the ability to respond. Which means that we are able to see our options and then choose the option that we think would be most appropriate after evaluating the facts or information before us. We break the cycle by choosing response over reaction.

Once we know what option to choose, we need to take the third step. The third step being the Action -i.e., we take steps knowing that those actions will have some consequence or outcome knowing very well that we have absolutely zero control over the outcomes.

Remember, all outcomes are only “feedback”. Success or failure is only a label : meanings / judgement that we fix on that feedback. The feedback again has to go through the three step process – Acceptance of it being what it is ( devoid of labels).

If we find the outcome is favourable we evaluate our options and if those options lead to following the same action then we take those actions again otherwise, we choose a different option and act accordingly.

When we look at life from this lens, it becomes easier to see and understand our own behaviour, our understanding of life, and our experiences, what we try and impose on others, our expectations etc.

Notice the patterns in your own experiences – if we have to break away from the pattern of life especially those which take us away from our internal alignment or internal wellness then we need to stop reacting and start responding. We always have the choice – the choice of how to experience our experiences – with equanimity or with judgement.  Make your choice!
